Congress considering raising investment amount for EB-5 visa.
Did you know?
Did you know that the EB-5 (employment based Green Card program) might have some changes after September 30. Last year, in September, Congress was considering to make certain changes including raising the minimum required investment amount for the EB-5 visa from $ 500,000 to $ 800,000. It did not happen! The issue is once again in the agenda. Anyone who applies for the visa BEFORE September 30, 2016 will be grandfathered at the $ 500,000 level for investments that fit the Targeted Employment Area criteria. It is widely expected that this amount will be raised to $ 800,000 for applicants who apply after September 30, 2016. Congress plans some additional measures that will require on-site audits of Regional Centers and projects they sponsor.
If you were thinking about applying for a Green Card through the EB-5 process you could still qualify for the $ 500,000 minimum investment amount if you act now.
